Simple nitrogen generator

To achieve the best possible results with the Metal-Base 1.0 system the process has to happen under an inert environment. Normally you would require large high pressure canisters with high purity nitrogen or argon. This can be a costly and logistical challenge.

to overcome this we have developed a simple nitrogen purification system that only requires Compressed air at 8 Bar. The purity depends on the available quantity. Current tests indicate a purity of 95% (5% O2) can be achieved with a flow of 32L/min@8 Bar. This can generally be supplied by 2.2kw compressors without overheating the compressor. A oil free compressor is recommended because this has less oil contamination.

How does it work:

The system works by using a CMS (carbon molecular sieve) material in 2 separate air tanks that are switched between filtering and cleaning state. This is called the pressure swing absorption process.
